Journey from Community Based Organization (CBO) to an Urban Resource Centre (URC)

Sakhi Mahila Mandal is working in the Vasna ward since last 13 years. The CBO members have also been very active in implementing all the programmes. They have an experience of implementing different projects and programmes in Health, Education, Livelihood and Micro finance. Their capacities are built up to the mark and can now independently manage any such project. Therefore the institutional development of the Community Based Organisation will be the key role during the programme implementation.

The URC presently works in four wards of Ahmedabad through the CBOs which are Sakhi Mahila Mandal in Vasna, Ekta Yuvak Mandal in Behrampura, Sankalp Mitra Mandal in Juhapura and Ahmedabad Slum Dweller’s Federation (ASDF) in Shahpur.
