Urmila Home Manager


The Home Manager project attempts to bridge the gap between domestic servants and urban households. SAATH provides a reliable domestic service and presents new opportunities for vulnerable women. The organization trains women to rigorous standards and then places them as “Home Managers”. The attendance on the job is guaranteed by the organization and each Home Manager exhibits regularity, efficiency, and quality of work. The Home Manager Project has been remodelled and streamlined. Accordingly, one coordinator will manage a group of 40 home managers.

 

Urmila, The Home Manager selection meets the following criteria:

Ř  Credibility: The Home Manager has to be trustworthy and undergoes a police check.

Ř  Regularity: The Home Manager has to be punctual and demonstrate regular attendance on the job. In the event of sickness or holiday, the organization must send a replacement.

Ř  Cleanliness and Hygiene: The Home Manager has to be in good health and without any communicable disease. She should also exhibit superior personal hygiene and undergo a health check.

Ř  Basic Communication and Etiquette: The Home Manager has to be trained to properly communicate with customers, guests and vendors.

Ř  Quality of Work, Operational Skills and Efficiency: The Home Manager has to be trained to operate household appliances, to perform basic housekeeping skills and cook basic dishes. Moreover, specific specializations for child care, old age care and patient care should be offered by the organization as well. These trainings would improve the overall quality of work and the execution of basic functions.

 

Training Module

 

The training aims to build capacity of the women since they come from a different background so as to build their self-esteem, train them on safety, time management, usage of different appliances, basic cooking, housekeeping and ironing practical are looked into.

Procedures

 

The client has to first get himself/herself registered by paying registration fees of Rs 50. The registration form requires you to provided details of your family members, number of hours you need the home manager for and your specific requirements of the Home Manager. After a client has registered with us for the Home Manager it is reviewed by us and we thereafter communicate to the client the current status and availability of a Home Manager to them.
