Rajendra Joshi is the founder and now, Managing Trustee of SAATH. He has initiated and developed the Integrated Slum Development Program, written and published papers on recycling of construction material, pro-poor accountability in WATSAN and on Integrated Slum Development. He has received the Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2009, Nagrikta Puraskar in 2004 by the Ahmedabad Management Association, has been a finalist for Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2007by the UNDP, CII, Schwab and Khemka Foundation; Listed amongst 50 “Pioneers of Change” by India Today in July 2008; is an Ashoka Fellow, September 2008; and was awarded the Karmaveer Puraskar, by iCONGO, as a Real Wealth Creator for the communities on the 26th November, 2008.
Dinesh Mehta is an Advisor to the School of Planning, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. He is a Former Global Coordinator, Urban Management Program, UN-Habitat, Nairobi; and Former Director, National Institute of Urban Affairs. Over two and a half decades of extensive experience in Urban Development Policy, Urban Planning and Management, Municipal and Housing Finance, Infrastructure Development Policies and Finance, with national and international agencies/institutions through work related to academics, policy formulation, applied research, consultancy, and administration. He has nearly twenty years of experience as a Chief Executive/Manager in public, nonprofit and international agencies. He has worked extensively in the Asia- Pacific region and Africa.
Navdeep Mathur has worked in the field of Public Policy and Urban Governance. He was awarded the Excellence Fellowship in Public Administration, Dissertation Grant, Rutgers University – Newark, USA in 2001 and was awarded the United Kingdom Public Administration Consortium Prize in 2005 for a co-authored journal article. He is also a member of the Editorial Board of Public Administration and Development, a reviewer for Policy and Politics, Public Administration, Society and Culture European Consortium of Political Research Standing Group on Theoretical Perspectives on Policy Analysis. He joined the SAATH Board in the second half of 2009.
Darshini Mahadevia is professor at the School of Planning, CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Her fields of expertise are Planning, Housing, Human development and Gender development. Darshiniben used to work for the Ahmedabad Study Action Group (ASAG) from 1986 to 1987 as a researcher and from 1991 to 1992 as a project-co-ordinator for carrying out Census on Poverty Pockets of Ahmedabad. In 1992 she finished her dissertation titled ‘Emerging Process of Residential Segregation in Metropolitan Cities – Case Study of Bombay and Madras’. Since 1996 she published 61 articles in academic journals and books.
P. K. Gosh is an Ex Secretary of the Urban Development Department, Government of Gujarat. Currently, he is the Trustee of the Consumer Education and Research Center in Ahmedabad. Mr. Ghosh is also Chairman of the Gujarat Government Heritage Consultative Committee. Along with this, Mr. Ghosh is the Member of Investor Protection and Education Fund, SEBI. Mr. Ghosh is also a Development consultant and has a vibrant knowledge on urban issues.
Sudhin Choksey has been the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Gruh Finance Ltd. since 1998 and 2000 respectively. Mr. Choksi has the working experience of handling functional areas of finance, commercial and general management both in India and abroad. He served as Executive Officer of Housing Development Finance Corp. Ltd. He has been a Director of Deepak Nitrite Ltd. since August 2005. He has been a Director of Gujarat State Financial Services Ltd. since March 5, 2007. Mr. Choksi is a certified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
