order has led to rapid growth in the urban sector. Based mainly on
economic needs the rural population is forced to risk migration.
Saaths key focus
has been in the areas of health, education, livelihood, infrastructure
development and microfinance with the aim of making these basic services
affordable and accessible to the urban poor.
Supports development
activities which are not integral to Saath programs.
Tasks undertaken so far
include Implementation of
Resettlement Action Plan in the Four Laning & Upgradation of National
Highways in Gujarat (East- West Corridor) from Porbander to Samakhiali
and Gorakhpur to Gopalgunj in Bihar by the National Highway Authority of
India.

Provides
support for in-house
documentation and research and external research consultancy. Initiated
in the year 2000 the unit includes In house Documentation and Research.
The unit is responsible for all documentation work related to the various
programmes run, such as making reports, presentations, concept notes,
project proposals, monitoring formats etc. The annual report is prepared
by the unit. The unit also takes up any needed internal research to
assess the impact of a programme or need of a programme or any other
reason that would help further the cause of Saath's work.
External Research Consultancy
The assignments taken up by Saath for
external research and presentations based on these research papers help
broaden Saath's perspective and also facilitate the reaching out of
Saath's philosophy and its efforts in the field of development work.
Saath's experience and expertise are sought in key decisive issues.
