The people inhabiting slum areas are unaware of various beneficial services provided to them by the government like BPL cards, Senior citizen card, PAN card etc. They also lacked knowledge and resources to deal with important documentation processes. So Saath set up URCs (Urban Resource Centres) in such slum areas to help the people with such issues.

URCs are one stop solutions for the Urban Poor. There are 3 centres in 3 wards of Ahmedabad. It is like an information hub for people living in slums. Services provided include information and assistance with certification, livelihood and credit & savings. URCs educate slum people about how to access various government services and other legal certificates or documents. With its help approx. 100 households bought an apartment with the help of Affordable housing, issued PAN cards, election cards, birth certificates, handicap passes, senior citizen passes and LIC policy. It also helped few people open an account in State Bank, provided water connection and widow pension to women and spread awareness about Chiranjeev Policy.
