Sectors and Programs

The new economic order has led to rapid growth in the urban sector. Based mainly on economic needs the rural population is forced to risk migration. Saath’s key focus has been in the areas of health, education, livelihood, infrastructure development and microfinance with the aim of making these basic services affordable and accessible to the urban poor.

For all our programmes, community participation forms the essence of Saath’s developmental efforts. Empowering local people, to ensure that they are able to carry on the process of sustainable development, is the chief motto of Saath.

Although urban slum areas have our main focus, we also work in rural areas. We believe that urban development is interrelated with development of the rural hinterland. Currently we have two programmes in rural areas: Rweaves and Child Righst for Change.
