The areas where Saath was operating other programs, Saath noticed that children in the villages in the age group of 3-6 don’t go to school due to lack of schooling facility in their area like Anganwadis or Nursery school.
So, Saath put forward the concept of ‘Balghars’ in 1992 to provide basic education, health and nutrition support to uneducated, underprivileged and poor children between the age group of 3-6 yrs. Today it operates in 7 pre-schools that reach out to more than 245 children every year.
The complete log of activities to be carried out every year in the Balghars was planned by psychologist, This plan takes into consideration all activities necessary for the children to grow physically, mentally and socially. They also organise picnics for the children and provide them nutritious food every day.
